Liminal Shores is responding to close shores and distant landmass. They consider the flux and movement of water and light in liminal spaces. The purple Liminal Shores series are based on bays and Lochs in Scotland. The selected colours and arrangement of recycled fabrics alludes to landscape with a pictorial quality. Whilst the horizontal stripes contradict the space and perspective.

They have a base of poured paint opening towards white and pastel colours, creating abstract horizontal divisions alluding to some light in the sky and still water. Layers of collaged fabrics with horizontal layers diffuse the sense of space and scale. Shiny fabrics and tiny repetitive stitches emphasise the texture and surface qualities.
