Jenny Hellen is a Fine Artist living and working in Catford, London. She studied Fine Art in Falmouth Cornwall and exhibited widely in London in the 1980’s with a range of watercolours with a focus on colours and landscape. She spent 26 years as a committed and creative Teacher of Art and Design, leading the Art department in 3 schools. She has worked exhibiting mostly in South London and taken up many opportunities in the growing arts scene in the local community.
Jenny Hellen responds abstractly to the light, colour and movement within experienced spaces and landscapes. Her paintings reflect a duality of textural surface and an illusion of created space. Her use of paint and collage is experimental in nature allowing her work to show her interest in the process of making whilst also responding to particular places. An ongoing passion with colour has led her to explore a limited palette to respond to landscape with an internal expression.
