Fog is a series of collages of glimpses of the trees in November fog. The fog represents the opaqueness of a mind with dementia with occasional glimpses of what might remain. They have a ghost of my 91-year old mother in the greyness and darkness. They consist of layers of collaged fabrics with semi-transparent horizontal layers diffusing the sense of space. The darker vertical strips loom closer with a sense of buildings or trees or unrecognised thoughts. Machine stitching flattens the surface with diagonals and curved lines changing the space further. Textures and patterns work to further flatten the space creating a dense and claustrophobic opaque space.
